Its an entertainer all in all. Nothin much ta comment about .. But does keep you happy and satisfied. A comical love story if you want to categories it some how. I did like the movie. Great acting by Arya. Din actually expect much from him in this film. But well done. all in all good job.

the climax is crappy. turns the whole experience to a bitter fact. the writer could really have come up with something better. din like it a bit.

Great acting by the supporting cast. And the sidelines aren't crappy too.

am just sad about the climax. din expect such bullshit. if the director thinks it was a brain wave or somthin ... Sorry BOSS ....

thts it .... go for this one if wanna have a light head after a heavy work load ... will surely help you out ..

Great talent gone to waste. nice making with a filthy,unnatural script. dont know why lalettan opted for this one. but its not worth it. whats it supposed ta be... a thriller .. a family drama ... something that entertains you ... well i dont think so.

din like the movie a bit. don know how it could win over the box office. maybe coz of the star casting or the crew hype. well its not worth a watch ... and that come from a lalettan fan. sorry dear fans, its just not worth it.

sorry not ta mention this before ... but great cinematography ... thumps up ... thats all i gotta say ...

'i finally watched a genuine MALAYALAM movie after a long time' thats what i felt. a standing ovation from the audience both times i went for it. yes i watched a mammotty movie twice.

the script is flawless and a standard make. the creativity and narrative talent of the writer is most appreciable. the few flaws have been swallowed by the intelligent dialogues.

the movie is not a perfect one but can easily make up with the spectacular entertainment it provides.

the greatest aspect to the movie is (no doubt on this) is one of the most intelligent actors of our country Mr.Mammotty, and he has proven why. the caricatures of the character that he has displayed before us is perfection at its ultimate. am not exaggerating and you will see that once you see the film. he actually makes us believe there really is a Pranchi in thrissur.

the humour is genuine and has a charm of its own. most of the actors have done justice to there roles. master ganapathy has also done commendable work. the accent too plays its part in making u like the movie.

and Ranjith dubbing for the saint ... well done

another factor is the presentation and its freshness.

FLAWS

The script is a good one ... no doubt .... well .. but not the DIRECTION

a lot of sequences could have been made better.

with such a script there shouldnt be any compromises and Ranjith seems to have made a few.

for example ... he actually uses Tiny Tom as a body double in the scene where Pranchi is talking to his friends on the Barbari Masjid issue. Come on man ... you are not a first timer.

all in all ... i say go for it ... you will feel sorry if you let this one go. a must watch for all the mallus out there. i loved it

HINT: Try to watch it with a few Thrissur guys u'll love it even more :)

Udaan

simply marvelous is all i can say about this. a simple story filled with emotions expertly scripted, beautifully directed and toughly enacted. the casting needs to be highly commented upon.

the movie bases on rohan, his very much dominating father and his half brother. all the main roles have been thoughtfully, effectively and brilliantly casted. And the result is splendid and impeccable.

the movie is full of spirit. it gives us hope about the choices we make in life and urges us forward. i was surprised on the fact that bollywood was capable of such attempts.

another great plus to the movie is Ronit Roy who plays the father character. his emotions and attitude flows with the movie. the character itself is a great creation ... one that is negative in most aspects but can be blamed for nothing. Ronit has done an excellent job, he shows great adversities with the moods the character passes through. there are a couple of scenes in which he is drunk and each one is different from the other.

The character of the half brother is a bit complicated one. a child of 7 or 8 .. going through everything and at the same time lacks the maturity to flow out those emotions. thats were Ayan Boradia the thrillingly talented child artist comes in. an amazing performance yet again thats makes you fall for the character and make you emotionally involved as well. he needs a special mention for the simplicity and intelligence he has shown in portraying his part. HATS OFF!!

Another thing is the selection of the industrially populated Jamshedpur as the scenario. that was a brilliant stroke and has added a wave of its own to the movie.

The movie is a bit slow in the start but that is only till you get captured by Motwane's splendid script in a few minutes.

I don want to spill anything on the plot. its for you to watch and enjoy. The script of the movie was actually over by 2005 ... but it took the director 5 yrs to find a producer for this Indian Classic .... now thats an even more depressing thing than watching Kites.

SO WATCH THIS ONE AND FLY OFF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Naan Mahan Alla

First of all ... its OK. i din get bored throughout the movie. the direction seems fine. the plot does make you wonder, under which genre to place this one into.

karthi's acting seems to be fine .. though there isnt much to do here compared to his previous ventures. the actress also has shows improvement from her previous attempts.

the plot is typically love oriented in the first half and turns heavier towards the end. the movie does capture your attention but is predictable.

the movie does have good songs too.

but i do feel they could have made the plot a bit more crude and intriguing. and the first song which is a rather good to listen to ..... but speaks out that its been shot at a set and is really begging us to believe its been done outdoors. i really do not understand what issues lead the director to go for a set rather than an outdoor shoot.

the female who plays the sister role to karthi seems too out of the picture with her styled hair and make up. but this time round they have tried to keep the hero's house at a low profile and believable.

i did enjoy this one ... but would have like it much more had they worked on the script a bit more. i liked the last fight sequence but it could have been done much better at night and that would have been more realistic.

Arrack In The Afternoon

a first attempt from the author. thats what the covers said when i bought this one. well i don feel so. an amazing piece of work for a first timer. he actually takes you to the lower reaches of mumbai along with Varghese and karan. the characters are life like and gives u a face of reality and excitement.

there is everything you want in there. each page is worth reading and makes you go for the next. i just want this one as a movie sometime soon. the highlight of the book i feel is the relation between Varghese and Karan. actually all the characters are worth mention.

the story goes as Varghese fails at an atempt of suicide .. he is a broken down poet. he is gathered from there by karan who builds him up into a GOD-man. the story takes you to the back drops of mumbai with a great array of colours both dark and sleazy.

a must read for all who like new experiences

well on a first hand basis this one is a good read. the first few chapters do take us back to our college days. it does shed weight towards the middle and renders you boredom. but picks up with an amazing acceleration. the book basically walks into the 5 point someone genre but is a completely different experience.

it moves around the life of a post graduate working his way up a consulting firm. the humor and writing style of the author is commendable. humor revolving about his love life and drunken adventures.

this one is a must read for all who enjoyed their experience with 5 point someone .
